Brothers and Sisters of Division 660:
The negotiation team have just finished another bargaining session at which we were bargaining very hard on your behalf. We are now preparing for the July 5th session; part of our preparation includes obtaining accurate information directly from the membership.
Everyone in the maintenance department knows that one of the premiere issues at bargaining is the creation of job descriptions for each classification in the shop. We have obtained a full list of the Equipment Maintainers whose hourly rate has been bumped up (as per Collective Agreement Article 14.1) as the result of performing tasks associated with Mechanical or Electrical Technician work. We need to know exactly what work is being done that generates the increased hourly rate.
You can assist your bargaining committee by completing the survey form and telling us what is the specific task either you or your co-workers are doing that is generating the Tech rate.
This is very important information as you have told us that JOB DESCRIPTIONS are one of the issues that must form part of the new Collective Agreement. Please fill out the form on Page 2 and give it to LC Ramon Muzones, additional forms are available at www.division660.ca in the forms section.
In Solidarity,
Negotiating Team
